Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Cases of acute cholangitis with sepsis-induced coagulopathy treated with endoscopic transpapillary biliary drainage.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Cases with gastrointestinal reconstruction other than Billroth-I reconstruction. Other cases deemed unsuitable as subjects by the principal investigator (or sub-investigator).

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
A comparison of procedure-related complications will be conducted between the two groups. The risk of bleeding with the addition of endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST) will be compared to the risk of pancreatitis without EST.
