Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants were eligible if they were aged 20 years or older and met the diagnostic criteria for chronic constipation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria included alcohol intolerance, antibiotic use within the previous 4 weeks, or use of medications causing diarrhea or constipation.
