Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with COPD and controls served as control participants who are in a stable state and regularly followed-up at the outpatient department of respiratory medicine, Tohoku Medical and Pharmaceutical University Wakabayashi Hospital

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Had an exacerbation within the past month at the time of periodic evaluation (2) Undergoing regular assessments due to respiratory diseases other than COPD (3) Contraindications to BIA due to a cardiac pacemaker (4) Identified with sarcopenia at the time of registration according to AWGS 2019 criteria (5) Declined to participate in the study
