Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: According to Global Initiative for Asthma 2022, adult asthma outpatients will be included in the study. The literature to be included will be randomized controlled trials. Macrolides will include clarithromycin, troleandomycin, erythromycin, josamycin, azithromycin, and roxithromycin.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pediatric patients under 18 years of old

Severe exacerbations (requiring ED visits or systemic steroids, or both), serious adverse events (including mortality), asthma symptoms (symptom scales, Asthma Control Questionnaire, Asthma quality of life (AQLQ) ), rescue medication (puffs/day), respiratory function (morning PEF, evening PEF, FEV1), bronchial hyperresponsiveness (BHR), and minimum oral corticosteroid dose.
