Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Pregnant women aged 16 years or older who are able to give informed consent (2) Hb concentration of 7-10.9 g/dl (3) Presence of a live single fetus in utero (4) Gestational age of 8-12 weeks at study entry (5) No underlying disease requiring regular oral medication (6) No cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disease, or any other condition affecting anemia (7) Any condition that, in the opinion of the consenting health care professional, requires exclusion from the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Not anaemic (Hb < 11 g/dl) (2) Refused to participate in this study (3) Currently have a disease requiring treatment other than anaemia (4) Any other person deemed unsuitable as a research subject by the principal investigator.
