Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The patient's written consent to participate in the research must be obtained. Eligible patients must be diagnosed with ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. The healthy control is a faculty member of Shimane University School of Medicine and has not been diagnosed with either ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Healthy controls are those with abnormal findings on gastrointestinal endoscopy.
