Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: age of over 70 years, a history of hemodialysis for the previous over 6 months, and undergoing hemodialysis for 4 h, three times per week.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: the presence of a physical disability or severe orthopedic problems, a history of stroke within the past 6 months, recent hospitalization within the past 3 months, non-ambulatory status, dementia with an inability to perform exercise and assessment, and acute or chronic medical conditions that would preclude assessment of the outcome measures or performance of an exercise.
