Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Studies are included if they reported primary research, described or evaluated the stigma and social discrimination related to acute infectious disease outbreaks and pandemics towards healthcare workers. Quantitative designs are included to assess the effect of stigma and social discrimination on the mental health of healthcare workers. Qualitative designs are included to provide context.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria include letters to the editor, commentaries, editorials, opinions, reviews, and non-English literature. Additionally, studies of HIV, leprosy and tuberculosis are also excluded.
