Interventions

Neck warming during entire perioperative period from prewarming in the surgical ward until leaving the operation room. Neck prewarming start in the patients room 60 minutes before leaving to the opera

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 20-80 years of age at the time of agreement to participate, American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I or II, surgical procedures scheduled for more than 2 hours, undergoing elective laparoscopic colorectal surgery under epidural and eneral anesthesia that was scheduled as the first surgery of the day

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Emergency surgery patient, body mass index <18 kg/m2 or >35 kg/m2, evidence of current infection, known metabolic disorders (e.g., hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism), known inflammatory bowel disease, current medications interfering with normal thermoregulation (e.g., acetaminophen, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or steroids), the presence of a peripherally inserted central venous catheter, the presence of skin or soft tissue disorders in areas to be covered with the neck warmer, or a history of burn by hot packs.
