Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All adults presenting for liver resection at our department (Department of Transplantation, Endoscopic and Reconstruction surgery, Tohoku University Hospital) were eligible.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patients had previously undergone upper digestive surgery, required additional procedures (e.g., bile duct reconstruction), their body mass index was <18 or >30 kg/m2, their performance status was <2, they did not consent to participate.
