Ingestion of water soluble dietary fiber at least 6g per day. Duration of the ingestion is at least 4 weeks. Ingestion can be achieved by any method. Water soluble dietary fiber can be supplemented

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosed as autism spectrum disorder by Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition. 2. Having food preference and/or constipation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: none

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Change in gut microbiota and serum inflammatory cytokines before and after ingestion of water soluble dietary fiber. Duration of the ingestion is at least 4 weeks.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Change in frequency of defecation and behavioral symptom evaluated by ABC-J before and after ingestion of water soluble dietary fiber.
