Inclusion criteria: Cervical spondylotic myelopathy
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with myelopathy caused by cervical disc herniation and ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL), those with radiculopathy, and those with a history of previous cervical spine surgery or injury

| Clinical outcomes were evaluated by comparing the recovery rate of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score between the two groups. Radiographs were taken before surgery and every year after surgery.
