Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients with (incomplete) upper extremity paresis resulting from stroke are included. 2) Healthy subjects. The eligibility criteria are lucidity (clinical judgment), independence in activities of daily living (eating, washing, dressing, grooming, and toiletting), and absence of upper extremity impairments (neurologic or orthopedic).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria include the following: (1) clear sign of dementia; (2) mental disorder, or aphasia as an obstacle to daily living; (3) excessive pain; (4) the severe end-stage or uncontrolled medical conditions.

Scores of the Action Research Arm Test. Scores for each ordinally scaled item range from 0 to 3, scores for the test range from 0 to 57.	—

Performance time of the Action Research Arm Test, the Fugl-Meyer Assessment scores, the Box and Block Test scores, and the Motor Activity Log scores.	—
