Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Study must be a systematic review and/or meta-analysis published in the journals: Anesthesiology, Anesthesia & Analgesia, British Journal of Anaesthesia, Anaesthesia, or Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine between January 1, 2007-December 31, 2015.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: All other study designs were excluded including clinical trials and observational studies. Systematic reviews or meta-analyses published outside of the time frame and in journals not listed were not included.

1. Frequency of clinical trials registry searches reported in anesthesiology systematic reviews from 5 journals between 2007-2015.

2. Frequency of systematic reviewers who located unpublished trials for possible inclusion in the review. 3. Frequency of systematic reviews that included unpublished trials in systematic review summaries or pooled effect estimates.
