Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Typical clinical picture of MELAS (myopathy, encephalopathy, lactic acidosis, and stroke-like episodes) with the specific muscle histology (RRF, SSV) and the gene alterations of mitochondrial DNA (A3243G)
