Interventions

Usual care program + Rubbing acupuncture (No skin penetration) / Usual care only Once a week for 5 weeks. Thereafter the control group also receives rubbing acupuncture once a week for 5 weeks.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who are diagnosed as dementia, certified as being in need of care, and admitted to one of four group homes.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients undergoing medical treatment for acute or serious chronic disease. Patients with skin disease or massive burn/injury. Patients who could not get permission of the entry.
