Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with suspected coronary heart disease who electively undergo coronary angiography

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Scheduled follow-up coronary angiography after coronary revascularization (percutaneous coronary intervention or coronary artery bypass graft surgery) 2. Malignancy 3. Inflammatory disease 4. Receiving heparin 5. Receiving Steroid or other hormone replacement therapy 6. Inability to give written informed consent 7. Not eligible in the investigator's opinion

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Major adverse cardiovascular events defined as a composite of cardiovascular death, nonfetal acute myocardial infarction, and nonfetal stroke.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. All-cause death 2. Cardiovascular death 3. A composite of cardiovascular death, nonfetal acute myocardial infarction, nonfetal stroke, heart failure hospitalization, and coronary/peripheral artery revascularization.
