Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who are scheduled for laparoscopic colectomy in Iwate Medical University Hospital with written informed consent agreement.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Contraindication for any drugs used during anesthesia, chronic pain under treatment, nerve disorder and psychiatric diseases.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Plasma epinephrine concentration on the morning of postoperative day 1 (POD1).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Visual Analog Scale pain score, occurrence of drowsiness, concentration of plasma norepinephrine, cortisol and IL-6, and additional analgesics usage on the morning of POD1.
