Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria for the patients were as follows; (i) the patient was diagnosed with CKD; (ii) the patient had no history of liver disease, cancer, infectious disease, collagen disease or dialysis; and (iii) the patient who was able to perform ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) at the enrollment of investigation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with recent occurrences of CVD events within the past year were excluded.

The main outcome was the first onset of fatal or nonfatal cardiovascular events and progression of renal failure, defined as myocardial infarction; stroke; coronary, carotid, or peripheral artery revascularization; initiation of dialysis.	—
