Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Admitted to our institutions 2) A first episode of decompensated AHF 3) Left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (EF) of <45%.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Cardiogenic shock or hypotension 2) History of myocardial infarction or coronary artery disease 3) Severe heart failure requiring mechanical support (intraaortic balloon pumping, left ventricular assist device, or cardiac resynchronization therapy) 4) Requiring heart transplantation
