Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. diagnosis of IPF according to the 2011 ATS/ERS/JRS/ALAT statement 2. Age >= 20 3. No infections, rapid deterioration, acute exacerbation, etc. in previous 3 months 4. No change of treatments for IPF in previous 3 months 5. mortality risk score >= 22 6. Having underwent pulmonary function test 6-12 months before the registration 7. written informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosis of malignancies 2. Unable to undergo pulmonary function test and 6-min walk test 3. Already taking pirfenidone 4. A history of severe toxicity of pirfenidone 5. Undergoing long-term oxygen therapy at rest
