Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The eligibility criteria for the study were as follows: 1) histopathologically confirmed squamous cell carcinoma, or adenocarcinoma, or small cell carcinoma of the lung; 2) non-resectable lung cancer; 3) ages 20 to 80 years; 4) adequate function of major organs; 5) no other active malignancy; 6) an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (PS) of 0 or 1; and, 7) provision of written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria for the study were as follows: 1) pregnant or potentially (willingly) pregnant women; 2) a past history of other chemotherapy or radiotherapy; and, 3) patients judged to be ineligible by the investigator.
