Inclusion criteria: Child-Pugh A planned and curative surgery for hepato-biliary-pancreatic malignancies.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: active bleeding a contraindication to anticoagulant prophylaxis the need for ongoing anticoagulant treatment severe liver damage renal failure
