Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients with hypercholesterolemia and type 2 diabetes mellitus LDL-C level ≥100 mg/dL

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patients with a history of stroke or ischemic heart disease during the previous 6 months patients with hepatopathy (alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and/or aspartate aminotransferase (AST) >80 IU/L) patients with nephropathy (serum creatinine >1.3 mg/dL) female patients who were pregnant or possibly pregnant
