Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Japanese outpatients who were undergoing maintenance hemodialysis 3 times per week at hemodialysis center

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients had been hospitalized within 3 months prior to the study, suffered from angina pectoris, had uncontrolled cardiac arrhythmias, uncontrolled hypertension, uncontrolled aortic aneurysm or aortic dissection, renal osteodystrophy with severe arthralgia, used their pedometers, or needed assistance with walking for more than 6 months prior to the study

Habitual physical activity evaluated using accelerometer at the baseline and after six months

Biochemical markers, motor functions, difficulty in activities of daily livings, quality of life, bone mineral density, skin perfusion pressure evaluated at the baseline and after six months
