Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diabetic patients 1. type2 diabetic patients treated with medicine 2. hospital care for 6 months or more fasting plasma glucose: less than 160 mg/dL by using two or less antidiabetic drugs for 2 months or more 3. Do not change the drugs within the trial period 4. 2-hour glucose in 75gOGTT: more than 140mg/dL Pre-diabetic subjects 1. Untreated (including dietary counselling and exercise therapy) 2. fasting plasma glucose: between 100 mg/dL to 140 mg/dL 3. 2-hour glucose in 75gOGTT: more than 140mg/dL

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Diabetic patients 1. Severe hypertension, liver, kidney, heart disease 2. Allergic 3. Treated with traditional Chinese medicine 4. Swelling 5. Judged as unsuitable for the study by the doctor Pre-diabetic subjects 1. Severe hypertension, liver, kidney, heart disease 2. Allergic 3. Treated with medicine (including traditional Chinese medicine) 4. Swelling 5. Judged as unsuitable for the study by the doctor
