Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who are admitted to psychiatric emergnecy hospitals due to acute-psychotic state, diagnosed as DSM-IV: 295.xx

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) severe liver, renal, heart, or respiratory dysfunction 2) diabetes mellitus, or its history 3) pregnant, nursing, or desiring to be pregnant

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
(1) rate of 50% improvement in PANSS total score (2) rate of treatment discontinuation for any cause

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
(1) torelability (DIEPSS, rate of treatment discontinuation for adverse event), change in vital signs and weight (2) improvement in symptoms (PANSS total, subscales, CGI, GAF)
