Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with type 2 diabetes 2. Patients who have a will to diet and exercise 3. HbA1c 6.5%=or<, 10.0%> 4. No improvement in HbA1c >or= 0.5% within 3 months 5. Patients treated with SU (glimepride or gliclazide), metformin, TZD or alphaGI 6. Aged >or= 20 years 7. Both female and male 8. Written informed consent by patients

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Type 1 diabetes; secondary diabetes 2. Alcoholism; severe depression or severe psychological condition 3. Malignancy 4. Patients treated with insulin 5. Abnormal hemoglobinemia 6. Patients unsuitable for this study judged by physicians
