Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients with schizophrenia according to DSM-4 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Forth Edition; American Psychiatric Association, 1994) and who required treatment with long-acting risperidone, were eligible for inclusion in the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with any type of substance abuse or with other organic psychiatric diagnoses were excluded.
