Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with type 2 diabetes and HbA1c levels of 6.5% or above.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with serum creatinine levels > 1.5 mg/dl, severe diabetes complications (proliferative retinopathy, symptomatic neuropathy or diabetic foot), ketoacidosis, soft drink ketosis, cancer, severe heart failure and liver cirrhosis.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Body mass index, visceral fat and subcutaneouse fat measured by CT, insulin, fasting blood glucose, HbA1c, total energy intake,%carbohydrate, %protein and %fat assessed by dietary food records(at baseline,after 3-month, after6- month).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
blood pressure, serum lipid profiles, albumin-creatinine ratio of spot urine(at baseline,after 3-month, after6- month).
