Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1)Enrolled college students (undergraduates, master's students and doctoral students). (2)Present with mild to moderate anxiety and depressive emotions, meeting at least one of the following five criteria: 1) Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAMA): score = 7 and 16. (3)Physical Activity Rating Scale-3 (PARS-3): total score = 19. (4)Participants have no intellectual impairment, volunteer to participate and sign the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Having a history of severe mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, or suicidal ideation; having received psychotherapy, medication or other interventions for anxiety and depression. (2) Having a history of gastrointestinal surgery within the past year, or suffering from gastrointestinal diseases, malignant tumors, autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, renal insufficiency or severe nephropathy (serum creatinine > 3.0 mg/dL). (3) Having a history of epilepsy or scalp lesions. (4) Having taken probiotics, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs or psychotropic medications in the past three months. (5) Having practiced Tai Chi regularly in the past three months. (6) Having participated in any exercise intervention trials in the past three months. (7) Having severe contraindications to exercise, including severe cardiopulmonary diseases, osteoarthropathy and motor system injuries.
