Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. For data mining: To include patients who: (1) were =18 years old; (2) received health care in Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine between 01/01/2024 and 31/12/2025; (3) had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis clinically; (4) had received at least one acupuncture session at Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. 2. For patients' survey: Patients must be: (1) diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis clinically; (2) aged = 18 years old. 3. For clinicians' survey: Participants must (1) hold medical license registered at Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine =1 year; (2) have treatment experience for rheumatoid arthritis patients. 4. For Interviews: (1) Patients: Include patients who are at least 18 years old and diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis for more than 6 months. (2) Clinicians: Include clinicians who hold medical license registered at Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine =1 year and have treatment experience for rheumatoid arthritis patients. (3) Hospital administrators: Include but not limited to medical equipment procurement manager, head nurses, staffs in administrative departments and those who have participated in the design of service processes.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. For data mining: Exclude patients with concurrent malignant tumours, uncontrolled severe infections, major organ failure or systemic sepsis; other serious autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, ankylosing spondylitis and systemic sclerosis; pregnancy or lactation. 2. For patients' survey: Excluding patients who have cognitive impairment or psychiatric disorders affecting comprehension, or not familiar with the language (Chinese) of the questionnaire. 3. Excluding survey answers with: (1) Duplicate IP submission: retain only the first valid submission from identical IP addresses or devices. (2) Abnormal response time: a total completion time under 60 seconds; an average response time per item below 2 seconds. 4. For Interviews: (1) Patients: Exclude patients with cognitive impairment or psychiatric disorders affecting comprehension. (2) Clinicians: Exclude those who have no direct experience in patient management. (3) Hospital administrators: Exclude temporary position personnel.
