Type 2 diabetes mellitus with cognitive impairment

Interventions

Acupuncture group:Basic hypoglycemic treatment
acupuncture at the Sishencong points on the head.
Acupoint Sensitization Group:Basic hypoglycemic treatment
at the Si Shen Cong acupoints on the head, using a Von Frey algometer to measure the mechanical pain threshold at the acupoints followed by acupuncture.
Healthy Control Group:Blank Control

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Inpatients and outpatients with T2DM in the Endocrinology Department of the Affiliated Zhongyi Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University 2. T2DM diagnosed and classified according to the 2022 "Chinese Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes" 3. Patients aged 60 years or older, previously diagnosed with T2DM, and currently undergoing treatment with insulin or antidiabetic medications 4. Determined as right-handed according to the Chinese handedness assessment criteria Cooperate to complete clinical history collection, cognitive function assessment, and MRI examination

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Neurodegenerative diseases of the nervous system, brain trauma, or cerebrovascular diseases (organic brain lesions) 2. Severe dysfunction of the heart, liver, or kidneys; systemic organic diseases; or a history of cancer 3. Moderate to severe hypertension (systolic blood pressure >160 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure >100 mmHg) or hyperlipidemia 4. Pregnant or breastfeeding women 5. Participants who are uncooperative or unable to complete the study effectively during the trial 6. Any contraindications for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), such as metal implants, metal dental fixtures, pacemakers, or claustrophobia 7. Other types of diabetes Patients with damage to target organs
