Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Meets the diagnostic criteria of Herpes Zoster Neuralgia; (2) Participants aged 18 to 75 years old, right-handed, and of any gender; (3) The pain score on the VAS scale ranges from 3 to 7 points.; (4) Volunteers who sign the informed consent form and are willing to actively cooperate with the treatment; (5) No metallic objects or other contraindications for MRI scans inside the body.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Suffering from special types of herpes zoster or herpes zoster on the head, face, or perineum; (2) Having concurrent cardiovascular, liver, lung, kidney, hematopoietic system, or other life-threatening primary diseases (e.g., acute myocardial infarction, severe sequelae of stroke, malignant arrhythmia, hypertensive crisis, primary cardiomyopathy, acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, renal failure, hepatic failure, leukemia, etc.); other endocrine system diseases manifesting as neuropathic pain; malignant tumors, etc.; (3) Having hypertension or diabetes, with uncontrolled blood pressure or blood sugar (e.g., still having: systolic blood pressure =140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure =90 mmHg, fasting blood glucose =7.0 mmol/L, or not taking medication regularly); (4) Having other chronic pain diseases and currently in the pain flare-up phase; (5) Being in pregnancy or lactation; (6) Having metal allergies or being physically weak and unable to tolerate acupuncture; (7) Having bleeding disorders, bleeding tendencies, coagulation dysfunction, or severe skin infections; (8) Having severe drug dependence, substance abuse, or alcoholism; (9) Having received acupuncture treatment for pain diseases or participated in other drug clinical studies within the past six months.
