Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Meeting the Western medical diagnostic criteria for knee osteoarthritis (KOA); 2) Kellgren–Lawrence (KL) grade I–III; 3) Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) score =4; 4) Unilateral knee involvement; 5) Age 40–75 years, regardless of sex; 6) Able to walk independently without assistive support; 7) Agreeing to avoid routine use of analgesics, with designated rescue medication permitted and recorded when pain is intolerable; 8) Voluntarily participating in this study and signing the informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Previous knee surgery on the evaluated knee, or ongoing surgery on either knee; 2) History of arthroscopy of the evaluated knee within the past 1 year or intra-articular injection within the past 6 months; 3) Acupuncture therapy on either knee within the past 6 months; 4) Knee diseases such as tumor, tuberculosis, or osteomyelitis; 5) Severe acute or chronic organic disease or neuropsychiatric disorder; 6) Coagulation disorder; 7) Pacemaker implantation or epilepsy; 8) Planning pregnancy, pregnant, or lactating; 9) Participation in another clinical study within the past 1 month.
