Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (I) Inclusion Criteria for the Case Group (UC) (1) Meeting the diagnostic criteria for active ulcerative colitis (UC); (2) Aged between 18 and 75 years, with no restriction on gender; (3) Voluntary participation in this clinical study, with signed informed consent; (4) Complete, accurate, and reliable documentation. (II) Inclusion Criteria for the Control Group (Colonic Polyps) (1) Aged between 18 and 75 years, with no restriction on gender; (2) Colonoscopy findings showing no colonic abnormalities other than colonic polyps; (3) Voluntary participation in this clinical study, with signed informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: : (1) Conditions that cannot be excluded, including intestinal tuberculosis, intestinal Behçet's disease, infectious enterocolitis, ischemic colitis, radiation enteritis, drug-induced bowel disease, eosinophilic enteritis, various rheumatic diseases with prominent intestinal manifestations (such as systemic lupus erythematosus, primary vasculitis, etc.), and intestinal malignant lymphoma, among others. (2) Patients with severe diseases of the circulatory, respiratory, hematological, endocrine, or nervous systems, or with malignant tumors. (3) Patients with psychiatric disorders or significant neurological deficits. (4) Patients deemed by the investigator as uncooperative or with other conditions that would increase the complexity of enrollment.
