Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Provide signed informed consent indicating agreement to participate in the study and comply with all study procedures. (2) Be aged =40 years, with a diagnosis of anterior circulation ischemic stroke occurring within the past 14 days. (3) Have CT and MRI findings confirming the diagnosis of ischemic stroke and ruling out hemorrhagic stroke. (4) Have a National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score of 5–25 (moderate to severe stroke), indicating clear neurological impairment following stroke and excluding patients with mild symptoms. (5) Be able to complete study-related questionnaires and motor tests according to the investigator's questions and instructions.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria include: vertebrobasilar artery system infarction, receipt of thrombolytic therapy, ischemic stroke complicated by cerebral hemorrhage, seizure, prior history of stroke, severe aphasia, severe dysphagia, pneumonia, urinary tract infection, and deep vein thrombosis. Participation in other post-stroke drug or exercise rehabilitation trials. Patients with cardiogenic embolism such as atrial fibrillation; those with severe impairment of cardiac, hepatic, pulmonary, or renal function; patients with other serious diseases; confirmed diagnosis of malignant tumor or brain tumor; patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy or have the potential to become pregnant; patients currently participating in other interventional clinical studies; life expectancy less than 2 months; inability to undergo MRI examination; and contraindications to Dihuang Yinzi (damp-heat or excessive phlegm conditions).
