Acupuncture point embedding group (observation group):Select Dazhui point, bilateral C2 Jiashu points, bilateral C6 Jiashu points, bilateral Xinshu points, bilateral Shenshu points, bilateral Jianjing
Western medicine group (control group):Betahistine mesilate (Mezira) three times daily, 12 mg per dose, for a continuous 2-week treatment period.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Meet the diagnostic criteria for peripheral vertigo, have a definite history of vertigo, and comply with one of the relevant diseases in the Western medical diagnostic criteria. The sensation of self-rotation or the rotation of surrounding objects, as well as autonomic nervous system excitation symptoms, has disappeared or significantly improved. At the time of consultation, the main symptoms include "dizziness, lightheadedness, postural imbalance, instability in posture, tendency to fall, and visual sensitivity," which may or may not be accompanied by tinnitus or hearing loss. The patient is conscious, and physical examination may reveal positive findings in the enhanced Romberg test or in-place stepping test. (2) Age between 18-75 years, with no restrictions on gender or place of origin. (3) Good general condition, stable vital signs, normal motor function in limbs, and able to undergo vestibular rehabilitation training. (4) Willing to accept acupuncture or acupoint embedding therapy and able to strictly adhere to the treatment plan. (5) Patients and their families have a detailed and clear understanding of the treatment process, voluntarily participate in this study, and sign the informed consent form before being included.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Vertigo caused by high-risk central nervous system diseases such as acute cerebrovascular accident, epilepsy, space-occupying lesions of the central nervous system, central nervous system infections, central nervous system demyelination, and vertebrobasilar artery transient ischemic vertigo; vestibular nerve trauma with vestibular hemorrhage; patients with dizziness or postural instability not caused by vestibular dysfunction (e.g., peripheral proprioceptive dysfunction, hypotension, adverse drug reactions, etc.); (2) Patients who have taken medications that may interfere with test results within the past 2 weeks; (3) Patients with skin infections or other dermatological conditions at the treatment site, or those allergic to surgical sutures; (4) Patients with severe primary diseases of the cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, hepatic, renal, or hematopoietic systems; (5) Patients with a history of severe needle syncope, or with skin damage, ulceration, or infection at the acupuncture or acupoint embedding sites, making acupuncture or acupoint embedding therapy unsuitable; (6) Patients with consciousness, mental, or speech communication disorders who are unable to cooperate with examinations or treatments; (7) Pregnant or breastfeeding women; (8) Patients deemed unsuitable for participation in this study based on comprehensive assessment by the investigators.
