Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Concurrently meets the Western diagnostic criteria for PCOS and the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndrome differentiation criteria for phlegm-dampness syndrome. (2) Women of reproductive age, aged 18–40 years. (3) Body mass index (BMI) =24 kg/m² (overweight or obese). (4) Voluntary participation; provision of signed informed consent; and willingness and ability to complete the 3-month follow-up.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Comorbid malignant tumors or severe mental disorders. (2) Cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases, hepatic or renal insufficiency, or acute-phase hematopoietic system diseases. (3) Confirmed diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (fasting plasma glucose [FPG] =7.0 mmol/L, or 2-hour postprandial glucose =11.1 mmol/L, or glycated hemoglobin [HbA1c] =6.5%). (4) Participation in other clinical trials, or receipt of bariatric surgery or pharmacological treatment for weight reduction, within the past 6 months. (5) Pregnant or lactating women. (6) Severe bone or joint disease precluding completion of the exercise regimen.
