18 Years to 100 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Age = 18 years old. 2.Scheduled for elective laparoscopic upper abdominal surgery (gastric/hepatic/pancreatic/gallbladder resection). 3.Patients with intermediate risk or higher according to the ARISCAT score. 4.American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classification I-III. 5.Signed informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Received mechanical ventilation for more than 1 hour within 2 weeks before surgery. 2.Acute respiratory failure (pneumonia, ALI or ARDS). 3.Progressive neuromuscular disease. 4.Refusal to participate or currently participating in another interventional study.
