Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Meeting the diagnostic criteria for chronic insomnia disorder specified in the International Classification of Sleep Disorders, 3rd Edition (ICSD-3); (2) A score of = 7 on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI); (3) Enrolled college students; (4) A score of = 19 on the Physical Activity Rating Scale-3 (PARS-3); (5) Being able to complete the 12-week experimental intervention and relevant assessments as required.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Suffering from other sleep disorders (e.g., sleep-disordered breathing, sleep movement disorders, etc.); (2) Having other mental disorders; (3) Diagnosed with organic brain diseases; (4) Having taken antidepressants, antipsychotics or hypnotic drugs within the recent 2 weeks; (5) Pregnancy or lactation period; (6) Having participated in similar exercise intervention trials within 12 weeks; (7) Having practiced Tai Chi regularly in the recent 12 weeks.
