Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Patients with confirmed lower motor neuron damage resulting from spinal cord injury, pelvic disease, or a history of surgery, meeting the aforementioned diagnostic criteria of both traditional Chinese and Western medicine. (2) Residual urine volume >100 mL and increased bladder capacity. (3) Age 18–75 years. (4) Disease duration of 1–6 months. (5) Stable condition, alert and oriented, and able to cooperate with treatment and assessment. (6) No prior acupuncture-related treatment prior to enrollment. (7) Voluntary participation and signing of the informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Patients with severe heart, brain, or lung diseases, or those with severe mental disorders. (2) Patients with skin lesions at the treatment site, such as bleeding tendencies or pressure ulcers. (3) Patients with congenital urethral valves or urethral strictures, or those with non-neurogenic neurogenic bladder. (4) Patients with urinary tract tumors, severe urinary tract infections, or kidney disease. (5) Patients with a history of cystostomy or anterior urethral sphincterotomy, urinary diversion surgery, or those with a urethral stent or prosthesis. (6) Patients with urodynamic studies indicating detrusor overactivity or significant organic obstruction at the urethral outlet. (7) Pregnant or lactating women. (8) Patients with metallic foreign bodies implanted in the lower lumbar or sacrococcygeal regions, etc. (9) Patients who have undergone surgical procedures such as sacral nerve or sacral cord stimulation device implantation. (10) Patients currently participating in other clinical trials that may affect the evaluation of the results of this study.
