Inclusion criteria: (1) Meeting the diagnostic criteria of ICU-AW in both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine (2) Aged 19 to 80 years (3) With intact skin in the sternocleidomastoid muscle area (4) Patients and their family members providing informed consent and signing the informed consent fo
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Pre-existing central or peripheral motor nerve dysfunction prior to enrollment (2) Complicated with unhealed limb or spinal fractures, lower extremity deep venous thrombosis, and other comorbidities (3) Patients with contraindications to external diaphragmatic pacing therapy (e.g., pleural thickening and adhesion, internal metal implants, pneumothorax, active pulmonary tuberculosis, severe pulmonary infection, etc.) (4) Patients with diaphragmatic structural or anatomical abnormalities; those with undetectable diaphragmatic thickness window on ultrasound (5) Pregnant or lactating females
