Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Meet the diagnostic criteria for post-stroke cognitive impairment;2.Aged between 30 and 75 years;3.First-ever stroke, with cognitive impairment related to the stroke, and no history of psychiatric disorders or dementia;4.Cognitive assessment: MoCA score performed 3–6 months after stroke onset: score =10 and <26 (for subjects with =12 years of education (i.e., high school or below), 1 point may be added to the raw MoCA score, but the total shall not exceed 30), confirming persistent cognitive impairment;5.Stable medical condition and vital signs, able to cooperate with examinations and treatment;6.Willing to participate and having provided signed informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with neuropsychiatric disorders other than stroke;2.Individuals with cranial defects following neurosurgery;3.Cognitive impairment attributable to other disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease;4.Acute decline in cognitive function occurring shortly after stroke onset with recovery within subsequent weeks;5.Presence of language, visual, auditory, or limb impairing ability to cooperate with required assessments;6.Receipt of other interventions targeting cognitive impairment since stroke onset;7.Comorbid severe cardiac, hepatic, or renal diseases, or presence of psychiatric or infectious conditions;8.Contraindications to acupuncture or reasons precluding its administration, such as needle fainting, alcohol allergy, or coagulation disorders;9.History of epilepsy, sleep deprivation, alcohol dependence, or use of medications that may lower seizure threshold (e.g., olanzapine or other CNS agents);10.Pregnant or lactating women;11.Participation in other clinical trials since stroke onset.
