Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Meet the diagnostic criteria of the "Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Sudden Deafness (2015)" formulated by the Otolaryngology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. (2) Meet the traditional Chinese medicine diagnostic criteria in "Traditional Chinese Medicine Otolaryngology" (14th Five-Year Plan Textbook, edited by Liu Peng). (3) Aged 18-70 years, no gender restrictions. (4) Normal functioning of major organs such as liver and kidneys. (5) Informed consent provided, voluntary participants.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Pregnant and breastfeeding women. (2) Sudden deafness patients who cannot clearly state their medical history, have communication difficulties, or are unwilling to cooperate with examinations. (3) Patients who, aside from hearing loss, have no other concurrent syndromes or discernible tongue and pulse conditions, do not meet the TCM syndrome differentiation criteria, or have mixed symptoms not typical of TCM syndromes. (4) Patients with clearly identifiable causes of sensorineural hearing loss such as Hunt syndrome, noise-induced hearing loss, traumatic hearing loss, toxic hearing loss, or central lesions causing sudden hearing decrease. (5) Patients with organic ear diseases or pseudo-deafness indicated by bilateral mastoid CT, internal auditory canal and cerebellopontine angle MRI, auditory brainstem response (ABR), acoustic immittance tests, or pure-tone audiometry, such as middle ear disease or acoustic neuroma. (6) Sudden deafness patients for whom tympanic injection, glucocorticoid, or batroxobin therapy is contraindicated.
