Acute facial paralysis

Interventions

Acute phase acupuncture group:Acute phase: Acupuncture + conventional acute-phase treatment (initiating =3 acupuncture sessions within 7 days of onset)
Recovery phase: Electroacupuncture + conventional recovery-phase treatment.
Non-acute phase acupuncture group:Acute phase: Conventional acute phase treatment: No acupuncture treatment received within 7 days of onset
Recovery phase: Electroacupuncture + conventional recovery phase treatment.

18 Years to 100 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Age =18 years; (2) Bell's palsy with disease duration <7 days (House-Brackmann grade II-VI); (3) Voluntary participation in the registry study of acupuncture intervention for acute-phase facial paralysis with signed informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Hunt syndrome, or secondary facial paralysis caused by trauma, tumor, otitis media, etc. (2) Pregnant or lactating women (3) Comorbid severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases
