Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Meets diagnostic criteria for aMCI; 2) Han ethnicity, right-handed, aged 55–75 years; 3) Self-reported memory impairment and informant complaints, with disease duration >3 months; 4) Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score = 24; 5) Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) score: 0.5; 6) Does not meet criteria for dementia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-IV-TR); 7) Activity of Daily Living Scale (ADL) score < 16; 8) Voluntary participation in the trial with signed informed consent;
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Individuals who have received acupuncture treatment or other therapies related to cognitive function within the past month; 2) Individuals unable to cooperate with neuropsychological testing due to severe hearing loss, aphasia, visual impairment, or similar conditions; 3) Individuals with a history of brain injury or MRI evidence of brain damage, including severe trauma, stroke, hydrocephalus, intellectual disability, or severe neurological disorders; 4) Any severe psychiatric disorder (clinical diagnosis of major depression, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia); 5) Unstable cardiac, renal, pulmonary, hepatic, or other severe chronic diseases; 6) Systemic diseases that may induce cognitive impairment (e.g., epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, severe anemia, sepsis, HIV, alcoholism/drug abuse, syphilis, or thyroid dysfunction); 7) Individuals with contraindications to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
