experimental group:The intervention was delivered over a six-week period, with one session per week lasting approximately 90 minutes, and integrated aromatherapy with drawing-based art therapy. Specif
Control group:Participants in the control group received drawing-based art therapy only, with no aromatherapy intervention. The drawing tasks were identical to those used in the intervention group.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Female, aged between 18 and 60 years; 2. Presence of anxiety symptoms, defined as a score of =5 on the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7)in the screening questionnaire, indicating mild to moderate anxiety; 3.Able to understand the study procedures and comply with the study requirements; 4. Willing to participate in a six-week programme of aromatherapy-assisted drawing-based art therapy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Currently receiving other forms of psychological therapy or pharmacological treatment; 2. Diagnosed with a severe mental disorder or a clinically diagnosed anxiety disorder; 3. Known allergy to essential oils or contraindications to aromatherapy, such as epilepsy or asthma; 4. Pregnant or breastfeeding women; 5. Absence from more than one third of the total sessions (i.e., more than two sessions).
