Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The diagnostic criteria should follow the diagnostic criteria for migraine in the 11th revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11, 8A80.Z): Headache attacks lasting 4 to 72 hours, characterized by moderate or severe headache, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and/or photophobia and phonophobia, and sometimes preceded by a brief, unilateral, completely reversible visual, sensory, or other central nervous system symptoms as a prodrome. 2) Meeting the diagnostic criteria; 2) Age between 18 and 65 years old, gender, Han ethnicity, right-handed; 3) A history of migraine for more than 12 months; 4) First migraine attack before the age of 50; 5) At least 6 years of education, able to correctly understand and complete the scale; 6) Voluntary participation and signing of the informed consent form; 7) No contraindications for MRI scanning; Absolute contraindications for MRI scanning: Those with implanted cardiac pacemakers, nerve stimulators, cochlear implants, or other ferromagnetic foreign bodies in the body; Relative contraindications for MRI scanning: Those with implanted objects such as steel needles, steel plates, artificial joints, aneurysm clips, coronary artery stents, etc., which must be confirmed by the surgeon and the product manual as non-magnetic objects before the examination; those with claustrophobia; critically ill patients requiring life support and rescue; patients with high fever; patients with dentures should remove them before the examination; female patients undergoing pelvic examination should remove metal intrauterine devices. 8) No contraindications for PET scanning; Absolute contraindications for PET scanning: Pregnant women, those allergic to tracer components; Relative contraindications for PET scanning: Lactating women, those with renal insufficiency, those unable to lie still and remain motionless, those with severe claustrophobia, those with body weight exceeding the equipment's load limit, those with high blood sugar or poorly controlled diabetes (FDG-PET critical): Most guidelines suggest rescheduling when blood sugar is >150–200 mg/dL. Recent vigorous exercise, cold exposure, infection/acute inflammation can affect uptake and should be avoided or evaluated. Note: Only patients meeting all the above criteria can be included in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients with a history of head trauma, secondary headache, tension-type headache, intermittent headache, cluster headache or cardiovascular disease, as confirmed by examination; 2) Patients with a history of tumors, mental illness, or severe anxiety and depression; 3) Patients with bleeding disorders, bleeding tendencies or severe skin infections; 4) Patients with severe drug dependence, smokers, drug users or heavy drinkers; 5) Pregnant women, lactating women or those suspected of being pregnant; 6) Patients who have received any acupuncture treatment or participated in other clinical studies within the past six months. Note: Any patient meeting any of the above criteria will be excluded.
