Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Inclusion criteria for etomidate-dependent individuals (1) Age between 18–23 years old; (2) Completed physiological detoxification; (3) Diagnosed as etomidate-dependent according to the *Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th Edition) (DSM-V)*, with no other substance use disorders (e.g., heroin, cannabis, etc.); (4) No history of addiction to other substances except etomidate and nicotine; (5) Right-handed. 2. Inclusion criteria for healthy control group (1) Age between 18–23 years old; (2) No history of substance use; (3) Right-handed.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Individuals with implanted metals (e.g., metallic dentures, pacemakers, etc.); (2) Patients with poorly controlled diseases; (3) Those with less than 5 months of remaining withdrawal time; (4) Individuals unwilling to participate in random allocation or with poor compliance; (5) History of mental or neurological disorders, not currently on psychotropic medications; severe mental or cognitive impairments; (6) Severe medical conditions, such as severe liver or kidney damage, chronic kidney disease, myocardial infarction, severe heart failure, or malignant tumors; (7) History of brain trauma or organic brain lesions (e.g., cerebral infarction, etc.).
